Settlers, Rails & Trails is currently undergoing some big changes. We have recently become a community non-for-profit organization incorporated with the Manitoba Government. Assuming the collection and goals of the former Argyle Prairie Museum, our new name better represents our objectives.
To become a permanent institution, are working on moving our museum to a new home near the village of Argyle. We are currently in transition mode, taking the next few years to ensure our growth. In the mean time, we are continuing our research, development and collections management.
As our project gathers momentum, we are looking for new members, memberships, support and guidance from anyone interested in our goals.
Settlers, Rails & Trails - Museum Objective The Settlers, Rails & Trails Museum has been established to tell the story of the founding, settlement and development of Argyle, Manitoba as a railway branch-line community (1870’s-present) The museum will collect, preserve, research, exhibit, and interpret the collection of historical artifacts. Thank you to all of our volunteers who recently lent a hand in dismantling the displays at the Manitoba Museum. We appreciate the transportation and storage of all materials while we make plans for our future pavilion building. |
